ANSWERS...

There is parking out back.

Changing rooms are available.

Yes, you can borrow or mat or purchase one. Our entry level Hugger Mugger and Gaim mats cost less than $30 and will last much longer than cheaper mats. We also sell Jade Harmony mats.

The studio temperature is around 74deg.

Please arrive 10 minutes early, but late happens! Please join us, but remove jackets, shoes etc. outside the studio space. When you come in quietly (!!!) unroll your mat and jump right in.

I've never done yoga, what class should I choose?

You do not need to attend a "beginner" class. Yoga isn't that complicated! Choose the class that sounds like something you will enjoy. We offer challenges and alternatives in all of our classes and students are always encouraged to work within their own limits. Take a rest when you need it, skip a pose omit the parts you don't like. You do not need to know the names of the poses, and no one will be watching you (except the teacher).

I'm not flexible, can I do yoga

Yes! Come as you are and you will find that yoga practice will help you become more flexible. This new found agility will be balanced by strength, coordination, and enhanced cardiovascular health, as well as a sense of physical confidence and overall well-being.

What do I need? How should I dress?

Water, a mat (we have loaner mats available too) as we will be on the floor for parts of the practice. Wear comfortable, stretchy clothes that are not too loose. We will practice barefoot, but socks are okay too. Choose based on how your clothing may respond to things like sweat, twisting, lying down, or bending forward. Avoid wearing strong scents such as perfumes, essential oils, or cologne. (Please ensure that your mat, clothes, and body are odor-free too.)

What kind of yoga do you do here?

We do yoga! That’s it! We offer a variety of yoga classes, some slower paced than others. We create our classes using YogaFit principles to help bodies of all types and flexibility levels, blending balance, strength, flexibility and power in a fitness format.
The YogaFit style reduces the risk of injury and augments recovery for ailments including stress, lower back pain and tension. Taught by YogaFit-trained staff with experience and skills in yoga, anatomy and fitness, the YogaFit method is the only nationally recognized continuing education partner for ACE, and has been a member of IHRSA since 1997. It is also the only yoga instruction recognized by Town Sports International (NYSC WCS BCS PSC) Fitness Clubs.

Is Yoga a Religion?

No, it is a philosophy that began in India an estimated 5,000 years ago. Yoga provides a framework for spiritual growth and mastery over the physical and mental body. Yoga sometimes interweaves other philosophies such as Hinduism or Buddhism, but it is not necessary to study those paths to practice or study yoga.
